Road trip to Jardin Necitas, Pilar, Bohol
Me and my friends decided to go on a road trip one
weekend afternoon to see the
newest addition to Bohol’s tourist attractions. The Jardin Necitas in Barangay Bagumbayan, Pilar, Bohol. It’s
a 77 km – 2 hour ride from the capital
city of Tagbilaran if you travel by private car.
On the way you will pass by
the Man-made forest in Bilar – Loboc border.
A 2-km stretch of dense mahogany
trees lining both sides of the road. Once you enter the forest you will be
refreshed by the cool breeze that
touches your skin. Your view of the road
and surroundings darkened because of the dense shades of the trees. This
man-made forest is a favorite stop to many visitors, locals and
foreigners alike who would like to have time to stop on the sides of the road and take
pictures just like us.

From Bilar we went straight to
Pilar stopping first at the Malinao Dam which has become a tourist stop by
itself. You can see a beautiful body of flowing
water rushing through the dam.
There is a man-made lake ideal for rowboating and fishing at the sides.
From there we proceeded to
Bagumbayan, Pilar. Unfortunately, it rained earlier in the afternoon and when
we arrived at the location the path was
so muddy. We saw many people and cars around which means we had arrived. It
was a short dirt road to the site so it was so muddy with all the cars and
motorcycles coming in and out. After a few steps we have reached the main gates
with a signage that says ‘Jardin Necitas”.
We joined the long line to the entrance and ticket booth. Entrance fee is Php
30.00 adults and children.
So there you can see
breathtaking view of Jardin Necitas, the
newest tourist attraction in Bohol. It is a garden of 5,000 roses and 15,000 tulips of different
colors that spread across a 650 sq. meter are at the hilltop of Purok 5,
Barangay Bagumbayan, Pilar so colorful and romantic scenery.
It lights up during nighfall
and turns into a glowing garden and you’re ready for a picture perfect
moment. The entrance is also adorned
with animals and some lighted cherry blossoms. The jardin has a cafeteria where
you can take your snacks and a parking lot. It is open to the public from 10:00
am to 10:00 pm.
Jardin Necitas I managed by Vanessa Cubrado the daughter
of the mayor of Pilar.
How to get there
From the capital city of Tagbilaran, it takes around two hours to get to Pilar, Bohol. It takes more if you stop by some tourist spots along the way. There are also private cars or vans for rent available. Or you can take a bus at the Integrated Bus Terminal in Dao, Tagbilaran City. Tricycle and motorbike ride (local name habal-habal) are the mode of transportation around Pilar.

Food Stop at Carmen, Bohol
Upon going back to Tagbilaran
City we proceeded to Carmen, Bohol which was about 15 minutes drive from Pilar.
There’s a familiar and favorite food stop there which serves home cooked tasty native
fried chicken, the Tany’s Fried Chicken. Its tender juicy meat so flavourful
and surely one of the best and once you tried it you would crave for more.
